HBO’s new documentary Leaving Neverland dominated pop culture conversation this week, bringing overdue attention and support to Wade Robson and James Safechuck. Both men allege that Michael Jackson sexually abused them when they were children and have come forward to share their stories. It’s an intense documentary, but one well worth discussing, so Noel and Kate dive in for this episode’s spotlight, along with Oprah’s hour-long after-show/special, After Neverland. Before that, though, we had a full week in TV. First we look at the comedies, including Fresh Off the Boat, SNL, Bob’s Burgers, grown-ish, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Then we talk reality, genre, and drama, including RuPaul’s Drag Race, Black Lightning, The Flash, and the finale of I Am the Night. Take a listen, then reach out with your thoughts on Neverland, I Am the Night, and more.
