Getting ready to listen while I’m in the kitchen baking panettone for the first time. I’m sure my top two shows, Hannibal and The Leftovers are on your list. 🙂
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Kate, you and Noel are a good team!
I’m wondering how concerned I should be that as a TV reviewer he has no access to the HBO (and other premium cable?) shows. But he cohosted Banshee podcast, right? (No Looking? No Leftovers or Game of Thrones talk?) But Noel has a good energy that pairs well with yours. Best.
I did not cohost the Bonshee podcast. You’re either thinking of Sean Coletti or, more likely, Les Chappell. Les and I sound so eerily similar on podcasts that we’re actually not allowed, by Internet law, to appear on the same podcast at the same time.
And you shouldn’t be super concerned. Think of this as a way to get out of the premium cable hype-a-thon. At least from me. Kate will, no doubt, have plenty to say about GoT or Leftovers when they return. (For whatever it’s worth, I watched S1 of GoT and went, “I don’t get why people like this. At all.” and never looked back.
Ah, ok. Yes, you and Les do sound alike. Sorry about that mistake.
I’m sure I won’t get out out the premium cable hype-athon but that won’t make me stop listening.
You and Kate have a good energy and banter and I look forward to hearing many more podcasts with the two of you. Best to you!
Couldn’t agree more with Noel about how The Americans feels like it’s trying to keep me emotionally distanced, but couldn’t agree more with Kate about how it’s Top 10 material in spite of that. I don’t really know why I feel that way. Sometimes, I think it’s how the series is shot, where I notice too often that I’m on the outside looking in rather than immersed in a scene. The other aspects of the series are pitch perfect, though, which is why I still rate it so highly. I want to like it as much as everyone else. Just like I want everyone else to like Banshee as much as I do. *cough, cough*
