It’s another marathon episode of The Televerse, with recent TV talk galore, as well as some more TV quiz fun. First up, Noel and Kate break down a full week in TV, starting with the comedies, including the finale of Review, more Grace and Frankie season three, the premiere of Imaginary Mary, an Elijah-centric Girls, and the tortuous (to at least one of the hosts) Murder She Baked. Then we talk a little reality, with the premieres of RuPaul’s Drag Race and The Amazing Race and the conclusion of Planet Earth II, and we round out the week with a handful of dramas, including Netflix’s new 13 Reasons Why, the premiere of Rebel, a much-anticipated Cato-centric Underground, and another The Good Fight. March is coming to a close, which means we’re well overdue a check-in on our 2017 TV resolutions. This week, Noel and Kate report on how we’ve been doing with their goals to watch more anime and explore YouTube web series. Noel looks at the premiere of Into the Badlands, Noel and Kate gush over another beautiful Samurai Jack, we dive deep with the Supergirl/The Flash musical cross-over, and we agree to disagree on Legion. It’s our final week of ClexaCon talk, here at The Televerse. After a lengthy look at the week in TV, we round out the podcast with audio from ClexaCon 2017’s It Takes a Village: Allies in the Media panel, moderated by Dr. Elizabeth Bridges and featuring Bridget Liszewski of The TV Junkies, along with Noel and Kate. A big thank you once again to ClexaCon for inviting us to speak, and to attendee Kate of TVWriter.com, who recorded the audio from the panel and provided it to us. Before we get to the panel, however, Noel and Kate talk through our very full week of viewing. First up are the comedies, including the premieres of Trial & Error and Review, a rare misfire from black-ish, and solid entries from The Detour, Fresh Off the Boat, and Speechless. Next is reality, with looks at this week’s much-discussed Trump taxes episode of The Rachel Maddow Show and series four of The Great British Bake Off, newly added to Netflix. For genre, the premieres of Samurai Jack and Iron Fist leave us with very different tastes in our mouths, and we’re similarly mixed on Steven Universe, The Flash, and Legion, and last up are the dramas, including the premieres of Greenleaf and American Crime, the Elementary Kitty two-parter, and new installments of Feud: Bette and Joan and The Good Fight.
