2018 is here, so it’s time once again for our yearly winter TV preview! Noel and Kate talk through the upcoming series premieres and returns, looking at which new shows are worth tuning in for and which are better left for midseason catch-ups. Before that, though, there’s plenty of TV to discuss from this week. We kick things off with our week in comedy and reality, including the premieres of LA to Vegas, grown-ish, The Amazing Race, the midseason premiere of The Good Place, and the dramatic return of the victor from Last Chance Kitchen to Top Chef: Colorado. Then we move on to the week’s genre entries, including the premiere of The X-Files, the Doctor Who Christmas special, and oodles of Steven Universe and Adventure Time. The Televerse #305- Spotlight on Chewing Gum Seasons 1 and 2

Thanks to the holiday weekend, a lot of TV took the week off, giving Noel and Kate time for season catch-ups! We kick things off with our week in comedy, including the first seasons of Danger and Eggs and GLOW, the third season of Playing House, another fun Younger, a dramatic The Carmichael Show, and a somewhat disappointing The Great British Baking Show. Next up is our week in genre and drama, including the perplexing Castlevania season one, the finale of Doctor Who, and new episodes of Wynonna Earp, Claws, and Queen Sugar. The Televerse #218- Holiday Omnibus 2 with Deepayan Sengupta

Our usual format is back this week on the podcast, with PopOptiq’s own Deepayan Sengupta joining Kate to talk through a very full week in TV. First we look at the comedies, including fantastic episodes of You’re the Worst and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and catch up with Other Space season one. Next are the genre offerings, including the premieres of Les Revenants season two, Grimm season five, and Ash vs Evil Dead season one, as well as plenty of superhero and The CW fare. After last week’s marathon podcast, we’re back to a more manageable length, though there’s still plenty of TV talk to go around. Joining Kate this week is Cooper S.
